Belbata is the 4th level in The Deeper Dungeons expansion of Dungeon Keeper, centered around Skeletons.

Description[]

In Belbata, the player starts off in a 4-way war between three extremely powerful Keepers, all with their already established dungeon, and you're standing in the only path between them. You start off with four level 4 Warlocks.

In the start of the map, if you are to have any hope of succeeding, you must perform a mad dash to the single gem seam to the left, and fortify it quickly before the blue Keeper gets to it. If done successfully, not only will you have a steady and permanent source of income you wouldn't otherwise have had, Blue will be totally snookered: it'll only be a matter of time until he ends up in trouble and you'll be able to waltz in and eliminate him, for there's no other gem seam near his dungeon, and he doesn't have access to Destroy Walls, so he's trapped behind your wall, as that's the only way into or out of his dungeon (he's otherwise completely surrounded by Impenetrable Rock). This may take a while, though, as he starts with a whopping (compared to your 10000) 250000 gold. So, that's one enemy as good as neutralised already! However, in KeeperFX, the AI may be smart enough to overcome this difficulty by mass-producing and selling doors and traps,[clarification needed] so you may still have to take on a powerful army.

Next to the gold seam, there is a neutral Bile Demon.

Most of the map is blocked off by Impenetrable Rock, making tunnels and many choke points to get anywhere. It would be wise to dig and fortify the choke points to prevent the enemy Keepers from breaching your dungeon, let alone ganging up on you, as a single Keeper is a mighty force to be reckoned with already.

Heroes stalk the lakes, as well as occupy caverns nearby. Neutral creatures sit next to the gold seam to the left. To the right is a neutral Portal ready to be claimed by you, leading to a white dungeon filled with Prisons and heroes, as well as neutral creatures. The heroes in your near vicinity are going to bolster your army nicely in the form of Skeletons. On top of the white castle, there's a cave with heroes leading to a neutral Graveyard, if you wanted Vampires.

Once you feel you're ready to tackle on a Keeper, carefully doing so, you can start picking off the strong Keepers one at a time to eventually win.

Trivia[]

  • This is the only non-secret singleplayer level in the Dungeon Keeper campaign and The Deeper Dungeons in which you're up against three enemy Keepers, and one of only three singleplayer levels to feature a yellow Keeper (the others being Kari-Mar and Secret 6).
