Demon Spawn are scaly, squat creatures who are good fighters despite their size. They enjoy training and will become level 4 Dragons once they have trained past level 10.
-- Dungeon Keeper Manual
The Demon Spawn is one of the best melee fighters in the beginning of the game. They are enthusiastic trainers, are cheap to train, and level up quickly. For such cheap creatures to train and maintain, they are very durable, and dole out good damage thanks to their useful spells and faster than average attacking speed. In addition, they are immune to lava, giving them a tactical edge in lava levels. From Moonbrush Wood onwards in the vanilla version of Dungeon Keeper, level 10 Demon Spawns can continue to train, transforming into level 4 Dragons. On the other hand, Demon Spawns aren't particularly good at research or manufacturing (although they can engage in both), and hate Hounds. They get angry after a while if they don´t have the possibility to train, so it is wise to employ them with tasks to do.
In Possession mode the view is distorted like a fish-eye.
