Dreadstones were a resource in Dungeon Keeper. They were displayed as purple type gems, and were mostly obtained through tournament participation and awarded similarly to gems.

Obtaining Dreadstones[]

  • Active Friend Daily Bonus - Per friend you had, you would get at least five. This also included gems.
  • Survival Raids - Available once a week, though could be quite difficult. Provided 10 dreadstones for completing the event. (All 10 waves must be destroyed. The number of dreadstones was not increased by DK Premium)
  • Tournaments - Tournaments offered the ability to obtain dreadstones. Your contribution and ranking would determine how many you received. For example, if you placed between 4th and 10th, and your contribution of stars was 100% for that guild, you would receive 300 dreadstones. If you only contributed 50% of the stars, you would get 150 dreadstones, etc.

Best method for obtaining dreadstones[]

The best method for obtaining dreadstones was by being in the Horny’s Chosen Tournament, though you had to be a very strong and experienced player to be able to get the stars needed to get a good payout.

The next best method, and every player of any strength or experience could do this, was ‘’farming’’. Farming involved joining a dead guild (a guild that was inactive) and qualifying them for a tournament. Once they were qualified, you could use the guild to compete. Depending on your success, you should have been able to get in the top 10 or at least the top 25. To get the max payout, you should have ensured you were the only one contributing. If you left the guild or were kicked before the tournament, you would lose all your stars, including the guilds (they were attached to you and they did not carry over to other guilds for that tournament). If you came from a level 40 guild to a dead guild, their level would be much lower. The bonuses from high level guilds were very notable. You would miss out on heaps of mana regeneration and boost bonuses.

The update that allowed Immortals to be trained from level 36 to 40 made farming more difficult. Players were fighting to get dreadstones, so the competition increased dramatically.

Horny's Rampage at Level 40[]

Horny Dungeon Keeper Mobile

This table calculates the Horny's stats at each rampage level. These calculations were done by Farket with his poor Excel skills, so the numbers could be wrong.

Rampage Calculations are based on how much damage is done to a dungeon, it is measured in 10% sections.

Rampage:

  • Damage Increase: 10% per Rampage Threshold
  • Health Increase: 20% per Rampage Threshold
  • Attack Speed Increase: 20% per Rampage Threshold
  • Movement Speed Increase: 10% per Rampage Threshold
