Dungeon Keeper Premium (ダンジョンキーパープレミアム) is a Japanese release and repackaging of Dungeon Keeper. It adds Japanese (it is not supported in the original Japanese release of Dungeon Keeper), but removes French, Spanish, Swedish, Polish, and Dutch. It has the patch pre-applied, is available in English as well as Japanese,[3] and includes The Deeper Dungeons,[4] the Desktop Theme,[3] and the Direct3D version.[3] It does not, however, include the Dungeon Keeper Level Editor. There is also no MS-DOS version; it is Windows-only, unlike western versions and the original Japanese version of Dungeon Keeper.

The package also includes the story booklet The Dreadful Demise of Derek the Dauntless.[5] This edition features an Electronic Arts loading cinematic, which does not exist on the western versions of Dungeon Keeper. There is also a creature 'investigative report' booklet, which shows each creature's stats and is not in western releases of Dungeon Keeper, although the information is in the English official guide book. Later releases also include trailers for other Electronic Arts games, including Dungeon Keeper 2; this is the later trailer.

The fan campaign Another Dungeon was made specifically for Dungeon Keeper Premium, though its English localisation should run on other versions too.

Compared to western releases, Dungeon Keeper Premium heavily emphasises the game's connexion to Electronic Arts; although Bullfrog Productions are credited as the developer, the game is presented primarily as an Electronic Arts game; in the packaging, the Electronic Arts logo is featured in lieu of the Bullfrog logo (and is used in the same manner), and even the opening 'legal' screen omits the Bullfrog logo.

Another difference to western releases is Dungeon Keeper Premium having fancy Dungeon Keeper AutoRun and setup GUIs, whereas western versions are much simpler.

While at first glance, Dungeon Keeper Premium may seem to simply be the Japanese name for Dungeon Keeper Gold (indeed, some sources claim just this), the numerous differences are strongly suggestive of it being a separate release.
