Fly[1] is a passive special ability available to Fireflies and Fairies[verification needed] in Dungeon Keeper 2. Also Vampires in Change into Bat form.
Description[]
It is merely their constant ongoing passive effect joined to their unique movement mode that allows them to fly over lava, and not activate any pressure/step-on traps, like Freeze Trap, Gas Trap, Spike Trap. However, Gas and Spike Traps may damage them if activated by someone else.
Tips[]
- Even if they may traverse lava freely, this makes flying creatures better land explorers because of how much safer they are from traps. And Freeze Traps cannot hard counter them if possessed. However, both are susceptible to the effects of a Fear Trap.
- Being drunk should make them temporarily immune, but anti-fear buffs seemingly never reached completion during development.
- Flying creatures can never get damaged by lava, even when stunned due to dropping on a later sold/burnt bridge, or if stunned by Lightning (creature spell) or the attack of a Lightning Trap.
Trivia[]
- They can still be frozen by Mistress Freeze. (A possessed Mistress might find it hard to target a bat form Vampire.)
- A Fairy can even heal herself with Pray right above a trap, or (perhaps obviously) lava.
- Contrary to popular misconception, flyers cannot fly over Barricades.
- Prima Official eGuide calls this ability "Flying" and doesn't list it for Fairies.
