Imp Invasion is the 'new moon'[1] (not to be confused with full moon) and final secret level in Dungeon Keeper 2. It requires no secret special to unlock it, but is only made available to play when the date of your system is set to a day that the moon is almost invisible in the sky.

The player's objective here is to possess the only available Salamander and destroy all the rival Imps that try to claim your dungeon. If they succeed in taking over two of your rooms, then the mission will be lost. Also, if rival Imps are still alive after the time limit has exceeded, then the level is also failed. Destroying all the enemy Imps wins the player the level. Or alternatively just killing 40 Imps.

To start this level, a sphere will hover above the campaign selection screen. Simply select the sphere to begin the level.

Tips[]

  • Running with [Shift] + [Direction Keys] may outright ensure victory.

Trivia[]

  • The Salamander's talent at going fast in lava certainly helps completing the level, and also the melee attack ability seems to be artificially sped up to help gameplay flow here.
  • As reassurance, the game still recognizes new moon dates up to current modern times, so this level can be reached however late a newcomer may be to the game.
  • There seems to be no benefit in completing this level aside from experiencing it. (The completion of the more conventional bonus levels grant access to the Chicken Spell for the player Keeper in all game modes and even the story campaign from then on.)
